DOT Reg. III supports SBMA Tourism Project

In an effort to bring together stakeholders in tourism industry of the Greater Subic Bay Area, the Tourism Department of SBMA and the Greater Subic Bay Tourism Bureau (GSBTB) has organized the 1st Tourism Fellowship Night at the Mountain Woods Resort here in Subic Bay Freeport Zone last June 19, 2005. According to SBMA Tourism Manager Kenneth Peralta, this fellowship night was a great success. It was attended by 128 tourism stakeholders from Bataan, Olongapo, Zambales and Subic Bay Freeport. George Lorenzana, GSBTB Chairman, stressed that the occasion is a very ideal venue for the key people in the tourism industry from the four corners of the Greater Subic Bay Area to get to know each other. A 2nd Fellowship Night is scheduled on July 22, 2005 at the same venue. Present during the event were the following SBMA Tourism Department personnel: Renalin R. Briones, Division Chief for Recreational Facility, Portia Zabala, Supervisor, Product Research Section, Patrick Escusa, GSBTB Secretariat, Czarina Fragata, Tourism Secretary, Nida Rojo, GSBTB Secretariat, Liza Ladao, Personnel Officer, Olive Lumbre, GSBTB Coordinator and Fritz Mark Manuel, Tourism GIS Coordinator and Editor of Tourism Update. Lea Marie Alacaraz, Chief, Conference Support Division with Joeman De Vera and Zaldy Dizon arrived later. The program started at 7 p.m. and ended at 10 o'clock in the evening. The Greater Subic Subic Bay Tourism Bureau (GBSTB), a forum composed of operators of diverse tourism-related businesses and non-government organization in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Olongapo City, and the adjoining provinces of Bataan and Zambales, announced during its Fellowship night held at Mountain Woods Resort, the launching of two major tourism projects dubbed as "Subik Travel Exchange Convention" and "Subik! Subik! Festival, events slated November this year and February 2006 respectively. "Subik" was coined to describe the unique experiences that one will discover as they visit various destination in the Subic Bay Area… A vacation haven right next door! according to GSBTB Travel Exchange Project Manager and Executive Director Raymund Gil Siongco. GSBTB appointed SUBOC, Subic Organizing Committee to handle the events management of Subic Travel Exchange Convention and Subik! Subik! Festival event. SUBOC is composed of Advent Com Inc., Sound Alpha Inc., Image Quest and 2C All. They are young and active advertising professionals from Manila that handles special events, trade exhibitions and print and broadcast promotions. Subic Diamond Entertainment Corp. announces the launching of CR Airways Ltd. maiden direct flight from Hongkong to Subic bay-three times a week-Tuesdays , Fridays and Sundays. With this, a new entertainment venue is born-Subic Diamond Casino where you can witness the best local entertainment indoors. Bella Dimayuga the master of ceremonies and owner of Bellestar Promotions, provide shows that attract many foreign visitors of Subic Diamond Casino. He is confident that with the opening of the said casino, tourism promotion and marketing of Subic will be done hand in hand to help boost the influx of tourist in the area. The launch was very successful. Subic Bay Tourism invited top Hongkong model Kathy Chow to be the ambassador of the tourist paradise in order to show Hong Kong people more attractions in Subic Bay.
